Aeschynanthus 'mona lisa'
Aeschynanthus are more commonly known as Lipstick plant, due to the long red flowers they produce. This particular species is easy to care for and a very rewarding plant to grow, re-flowering with very little effort needed. To get your Aeschynanthus to bloom, give your plant ideal conditions and keep it root-bound (keeping your plant in the same size nursery pot and the roots restricted).
This vining epiphyte has glossy, succulent leaves making it able to withstand short periods of drought. To keep your Aeschynanthus happy, keep it in a warm, bright postion. The plant should be protected from midday sun, but your Aeschynanthus will definitely appreciate some morning or evening sunshine. We recommend allowing at least half the medium to dry out regularly.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection - Aeschynanthus in its 15cm nursery pot will fit our medium Jute hanging basket.
Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
