The Alocasia portadora is an eyecatching houseplant. This Alocasia has beautiful ruffly foliage that really grabs your attention. As your eye moves across the plant, your eyes are drawn to faint motled stems hidden underneath. Growing native to the rainforest of southeastern Asia, your Alocasia portadora will give your that tropical vibe everyone is dreaming of.
Give your Alocasia portadora plenty of bright, filtered light. Keep away from direct sun for long periods of time, or give it a sheltered position. Intense light may bleach the leaves. Your Alocasia should be fine with average room humidity, but be mindful of dry air as this can crisp up the leaves. During summer periods they can be thirsty, but always allow at least half the medium to dry out as they need oxygen around their roots. Over winter reduce the frequency of watering as Alocasias can go through a dormancy period when it's cold.
If you're looking for a plant to grow large & dominate a space, an Alocasia is for you! Have you seen our other species of Alocasia?
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from the drop down menu or head over to our Pot Collection. Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
