This striking Alocasia is extremely popular with houseplant enthustiasts. Alocasias are more commonly known as Elephant ear plant, due to the size and shape of the leaves. But what really draws your attention to the Zebrina is the stunning variegation to the stems. You almost can't believe that this plant is real!
Growing native to the rainforests of southeastern Asia, you want to give your Zebrina plenty of bright, filtered light. We've found they really appreciate some morning sun, but avoid long periods of direct sun during the afternoon. Your Alocasia should be fine with average room humidity, but be mindful of dry air in summer as this can crisp up the leaves. During summer periods they can be thirsty, but always allow at least half the medium to dry out as they need oxygen around their roots. Over winter reduce the frequency of watering as Alocasias can go through a dormancy period when it's cold.
If you're looking for a plant to grow large and dominate a space, an Alocasia is for you!
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection.
We've paired the Zebrina in our large Bali pots. Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
