Anthurium 'Black Beauty'
Anthurium andreanum are a very versitle houseplants that come in a variety of colours. This particalar species has a deep burgandy, almost black inflorescence, giving it the name 'Black beauty'. You will also notice once the new leaves begin to emerge they also take on a reddish, burgandy hue which as they mature will revert to a deep green colour. These houseplants usually go by the common name Flamingo Flower.
Anthuriums can be found growing epiphtically in the rainforests of Eucador and Colombia, which makes them ideal bathroom plants. Give your Anthurium a semi shadied position. They will appreciate a little morning or afternoon sun, but shelter it from any extended periods of direct sunlight. Allow half the medium to dry out on a regular basis. If your Anthurium is dehydrated it will being to wilt - give your Anthurium a healthy drink and it should bounce right back.
Your anthurium would prefer to be kept in a tight pot as they like to be root bound. This should encourage the plant to flower, if given the right conditions.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from the drop down menu or head over to our Pot Collection. Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
