Anthurium ellipticum is a newer plant to the houseplant market and has been a popular choice with avid plant growers. This species is grown for its large, dramatic foliage rather than it's flowers. Flowers are small & insignificant compared to it's cousins the Andraeanum, which are grown for their colourful inflorence. Another attractive feature of the Ellipticum is the growth structure of the roots. These roots are thick & chunky, allowing the plant to firmly grab onto whatever it's growing on, likely a tree.
Grow your Anthurim in bright, filtered light. Keep your plant out of direct sun for long periods, but it will appreciate some early morning or late evening sun. As an epiphyte, they like to be kept root bound & will enjoy a healthy soak once the medium become dry through the top half. The leaves on the Ellipticum are slightly waxy meaning it should tolerate average room humidity but will appreciate a more humid environment.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection.
We've paired this with our medium Raw stone pot.
Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
