Begonia maculata
Begonia maculata is one of our favourite Begonia species - all the staff at Wild Leaf have one at home. We love the spotty leaves and we've found it to be a very easy plant to grow. Maculata is a cane type Begonia, which means the stems can get quite tall and may need support.
Begonias like very bright light and appreciate some early morning or late afternoon sun. A south-facing position is fine over winter, but during spring and summer it's best to keep Begonias out of direct sunshine during the middle or the day. Let your maculata dry out well between waterings. Begonias are prone to powerdery mildew if they are kept in damp conditions. We have found maculata to be otherwise resistant to most pests.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your pot by heading over to our Pot Collection.
Begonia maculata in its 17cm nursery pot fits our Large Bali pots, Large Almada pots, Medium and Large Raw Stone pots, and our Large DK pots.
Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better to keep your plant in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
