Epiphyllum pumilum

Epiphyllum pumilum

Epiphyllum are commonly called Orchid Cactus because of their big showy blooms. Native to Mexico and Guatemala, this epiphytic (tree-dwelling) cactus is easy to care for and will reward you with bold, white flowers.  In their natural habitat, the flowers are polluniated by moths.  They will open during the night and only last a couple of days.

Grow your Pumilum in bright, indirect light. Protect your plant from direct sunlight as this can cause scorching. Being a tropical cactus, you will need to water your plant moderately during the growing season, allowing at least half the medium to dry out. During the winter, treat your Epiphyllum more like a cactus and let the medium become completely dry before you water.

To promote flowering, keep your Pumilum in ideal coniditions and keep your plant root bound.

All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection - pumilum in its 14cm pot fits our small Bali pots, as well as our small Almada Pot, medium Raw Stone Pot, and our large Bobble Pot.  Pumilum comes with a removable plastic hanger.

Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better to keep your plant in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
