Ficus lyrata 'bambino'
Dream of having a Fiddle Leaf Fig but don't have the space for one to grow? The Ficus lyrata 'bambino' is the dwarf variety. It still sports the fiddle-shaped, glossy green leaves with yellow viening but will not grow to such a dramatic size, making it ideal for compact living conditions.
Ficus can be fussy and don't like change, but once given the right environment your Ficus 'bambino' will surprise you with how easy it is to care for. Give your Ficus bright, indirect light. It will appreciate early morning sun, but should be sheltered from midday and afternoon sun. Although from tropical regions they do well with average room humidity, but keep an eye out for crispy leaf edges. Water your Ficus when the medium feels dry through the top half. Lyrata do not like soggy compost.
When Ficus plants are stressed, they can rather dramatically drop their leaves, but they ususally recover once given better conditions. Keep your Ficus away from radiators and cold draughts and keep it where you won't brush past it (they prefer not to be touched). They prefer to become established in a spot and left there, so it's best to put some thought into the right position when you bring your plant home.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection.
We've style the Bambino with our small Raw Stone pot and with our XS Almada pot. They will also fit in our XS Bali pots. Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
