Hildewintera colademononis
This trailing cactus can also go by the latin name Cleistocactus winteri subsp colademono, but it more commonly goes by the name Monkey Tail cactus. Native to Bolivia, you will find this cactus growing on rocky terrain.
Whilst this plant is still in it's juvinel form, once your Hildewintera begins to mature the modified stems will begin to trail over the side of the pot. Spines are soft and white. As the plant matures the spine growth will become thicker and hairier. If you're lucky, your Monkey Tail cactus may suprise you with a spectacular display of flowers once it's at maturity. Flowers are reddish in nature and can reach up to 3 inches in length.
To care for your Hildewintera, place it in a position that gets plenty of sunlight. Over the growing season your Monkey Tail cactus will require more frequent watering. During the autumnal months, begin to reduce the amount you are watering. While it is resting over winter, stop watering completely in order to avoid any rotting during its dormancy.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection. Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
