Sansevieria is an extremely common houseplant due to its relentlessness to survive and how easy they are to care for. They more commonly go by Snake Plant or Mother-in-Laws Tongue. The 'Moonshine' is a cultivated varietial from Sansevieria trifasicata and is particularly striking due to the colouration of the leaves. The new leaves come through a pale, almost silvery colour - as such it is sometimes called the Ghost Snake Plant. As they mature, the leaves darken to a deeper silvery green with some horizontal markings.
You can grow Sansevieria in partial shade to partial sun conditions. Be mindful of full sun for extended periods as this could bleach the patterning on the leaves. Sansevieria are not demanding when it comes to watering. Allow all of the medium to dry out completely before watering again, but give the plant a thorough soaking when you water. Sansevieria are slow growing and like to be kept in a tight pot. Be mindful to have Sansevieria around children and pets as they do contain a toxic compound that can cause irritation when ingested.
Sansevieria are causing quite a stir in the botanical world as they have just been reclassified into the genus Dracaena.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from the drop down menu or head over to our Pot Collection. Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
