Sansevieria zeylanica
Sansevieria is an extremely common houseplant due to its relentlessness to survive and how easy they are to care for. They more commonly go by Snake plant or Mother-in-laws Tongue. This particular species is a cultivar of Sansevieria trifasciata, which can be found growing native to sub tropical regions of Sri Lanka.
You can grow Sansevieria in partial shade to partial sun conditions. Be mindful of full sun for extended periods as this could bleach the patterning on the leaves. Sansevieria are not demanding when it comes to watering at all. Allow all of the medium to dry out before watering again. But give the plant a thorough soaking when you water. Sansevieria are slow growing & like to be kept in a tight pot. Be mindful to have Sansevieria around children & pets as they do contain a toxic compound that can cause irritation when ingested.
Sansevieria are causing quite a stir in the botanical world as they have just been reclassified into the genus Dracaena.
All plants are sold in their nursery pots. Decorative pots are sold seperately. You can choose your style pot from our Pot Collection.
We've styled the Zeylanica with our large DK Bucket pots and our large bronze Bali pot.
Do not pot directly into our decorative pots. It's much better for your plant to keep it in its nursery pot to allow adequate drainage.
